In light of the ongoing Russian military aggression and consequent human rights crisis in Ukraine, scholar Lance Rhoades shares his experiences and observations visiting western Ukraine shortly after Russia annexed Crimea and declared eastern provinces independent. While there, he noted people’s fears and resolve regarding Russia’s future intentions, which the world is now witnessing. Rhoades is a multifaceted Seattle-based scholar who completed his graduate studies in Comparative Literature and Cinema Studies at the University of Washington. The program will be held in the Downtown Library’s Community Room.
