Clarkston author writes"The Phoenix Girls" for younger lovers of fantasy

In “The Phoenix Girls: The Conjuring Glass” a 13-year-old orphan girl named Penny Sinclair moves to a small town named Dogwood. She expects that life will be boring, until she encounters a talking fox. For Penny magic soon becomes entwined in friendship and adventure.

“The Phoenix Girls” is Clarkston author Brian Knight’s first foray into young adult literature. It’s geared toward ages 9 to adult. He’ll have a launch celebration and book signing from 3-6 p.m. Friday, March 8 at And Books Too, 918 Sixth St., Clarkston. The book is planned to launch a series.

Knight drives a propane truck for a living and writes in his spare time. He’s authored numerous short stories, novels and novellas published by a variety of small presses. Several of his short stories have received honorable mentions in “Year’s Best Fantasy and Horror.”
