Cooking Class

Presented by Disability Action Center NW with the Latah Alliance on Mental Illness. Learn shopping techniques, cooking skills and all the tools you will need to make breakfast, lunch and dinner for one person for a full week for around $30 of groceries. Presenter Vicki Leeper is old enough to remember the last bout of real inflation in the 1970s and grew up with parents from the depression. “I was raised to know how to get through tough times and learned to buy less and buy smarter,” Leeper said. The class will feature cooking demonstrations and tastings of some of the recipes. A free cookbook is included when you register. Topics covered: how to cook once and have meals for several days, and how to freeze ready-to-eat meals for an on-the-go lifestyle. These recipes will create a week’s worth of meals for one person (plus some!) and will provide healthy food that is filling and tasty. This class is also available over Zoom, and you can pick up your cookbook from the Moscow office any time the day before the event, and after. Be sure to register first so you can receive a cookbooks. Notify DAC NW at by Nov. 6 if you need accommodations. Register at givepulse.com/event/405220 and receive a free cookbook.
