Embrace the season of reflection and gratitude with Dear Moscow! This mail art exhibition commemorates the 110th anniversary of Moscow City Hall’s construction while honoring the building’s former use as a post office. This exhibition, planned over the course of the past two years in anticipation of the anniversary, is now even more timely as people seek creative ways to connect with one another safely.
Dear Moscow features 61 illustrated letters sent to the gallery via USPS. Submissions came from long-time community members, student and family groups, and individual citizens expressing gratitude for Moscow.
Artists frequently employ the Postal Service as a collaborator in the delivery of their works, making mail art the perfect medium to express appreciation for the history and community of Moscow, ID.
Public viewing hours are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through April 2. Please observe social distancing protocols and wear a mask while inside City Hall. Single-use masks are available at the east entrance.
