Depot Days starts with a Palouse People public history talk from 7-8 p.m. Thursday in the Freight Room. when local historian Kathy Meyer will give a talk on the “Great Big Baked Potato,” once served on Northern Pacific Railway’s dining cars. An innovation of the railway that will be celebrated in a new exhibit, these potatoes often weighed 5 pounds or more and could serve an entire family.
