"Engaging China: Rebuilding Sino-American Relations"

Professor Mel Gurtov (Political Science, Portland State University) will make the case for a strategy of coexistence that allows for economic and technological competition between the U.S. and China, while managing frictions over issues as diverse as human rights and access to the South China Sea. The talk begins at 1:30 in the Whitewater Room (ISUB), and will be followed by a book signing of Prof. Gurtov's new book on the subject.
