“Red, White & Timeless: Celebrating Americana at the Artisan Barn” opens with a reception from 1-3 p.m. Saturday at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn, 419 N. Park Way in Uniontown.

The exhibit, which continues through July 26, “captures the essence of Americana through the eyes of regional artists” according to a Dahmen Barn news release.

The reception includes live music, artist meet and greets, refreshments and a demonstration of flintknapping, an ancient method of shaping stones.

Also at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn, Sunday Ceramics continues with “à la carte” classes from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or 1-4 p.m.

Instruction for all levels of wheel throwing, hand building, decorating, sculpture, glazing and tile/mosaic is offered in the barn’s studio for $275 for 10 classes or $175 for five; participants should register at least 48 hours in advance at artisanbarn.org/classes-events.

Wednesday, Saturday and children’s classes also are offered.

The first Market on Main kicks off Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the lot behind the Audian Theatre at Pine and Paradise streets in Pullman.

The new market, scheduled for Saturdays through October, features fresh produce, local goods and handmade art. It’s organized by a group of community members in collaboration with the Downtown Pullman Association, according to market manager Vance Fulkerson.

“We hope to contribute to community identity and vibrance while supporting local farmers and craftspersons,” Fulkerson said in an email.

Local author Rosalie Spielman will read from her latest “cozy mystery” from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the Troy Community Library, 402 S. Main St.

Spielman’s latest book, “Home Sweet Homicide,” and other books in her Hometown series are inspired by the town of Troy.

She will answer questions after the reading, and refreshments will be served.

Portland-based No Soap, Radio will play an album release show from 7:30-9 p.m. Monday at John’s Alley Tavern, 114 E. Sixth St. in Moscow.

The band, with members originally from Moscow, Coeur d’Alene, Post Falls and Spokane, is touring for the first time, promoting its new full-length album, “Two Polar Bears in a Bath Tub.”

The 90-minute set begins at 7:30. The cost is $10 at the door.

Nez Perce Storytime, with the Nez Perce National Historical Park and Moscow Public Library, is from 2-3 p.m. Wednesday at the library, 110 S. Jefferson St.

Children will hear the story of The Ant and Yellow Jacket, followed by a coloring activity.
