For many, October means it’s time to go hunting -- for beer.
Beach season is long gone and winter is coming, so cultivating your beer belly might sound like a fine idea. You get a jump-start on that Saturday at two 21-and-older, beer-centric events in Lewiston: Oktoberfest at Pioneer Park and Octobrewfest at the Nez Perce County Fairgrounds.
The two festivals offer different tastes of beer culture.
Here are five fun brews coming to Octobrewfest at the fairgrounds in Lewiston.
(1) Me So Honey ale from Belching Beaver Brewery in San Diego (Also look for Belching Beaver’s peanut butter stout).
(2) Mashing Pumpkins ale from Mick Duff’s Brewing Company in Sandpoint, Idaho.
(3) Mango & Stash IPA from Hop Valley Brewing in Eugene, Ore.
(4) Schnozenhonker from Riverport Brewing in Clarkston.
(5) Call Me Ginger, from Mother Earth Brewing Co., based in Nampa and Vista, Calif.
(6) Fatman IPA from Mad Bomber Brewing in Hayden, Idaho. Mad Bomber Brewing was started by current and former U.S. Army explosive ordnance disposal technicians who went from disarming bombs to disarming stress with their beer.

OF NOTE: Octobrewfest features eight samples of local, regional and national craft beers, along with the Pearl Jam tribute band Washed in Black and food vendors. Free rides home will be available starting at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 and are available at Riverport Brewery in Clarkston and Rosauers in Lewiston. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Zack Moore, a Lewiston teen who was paralyzed this summer in a river accident.
