Buffy the Vampire Slayer's story continues in the world of comic books.

“Convergence” — DC comics mashes stories and characters from 80 years of comic-book history in a series that appeals to generations of fans. Everybody from 1930s Superman to Swap Thing battle for a title and place in history.

“Buffy the Vampire Slayer” — While the TV show ended years ago, the character’s creators continue the tale in a series published by Dark Horse Comics.

Movies have upped the attention readers give to The Avengers.

“The Avengers” — Marvel’s superhero team debuted in 1963 to fight evil no superhero could defeat alone. The team featured Iron Man, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Thor and the Hulk. The 2015 comic, and the movie opening Friday, highlights lesser-known characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow.

“Bob’s Burgers” —  The edgy story of the Belcher family, written by the creators of the Fox animated series, has found a fan base in comics.

"The Stuff of Legend" is a dark comic about vengeful toys.

the Bogeyman in his closet and taken to a world where toys are full-sized living (and armed) beings. The boy’s toys decide to band together to rescue him in this dark tale.
