Red Bento, Moscow

Red Bento serves sushi, teriyaki and Asian fusion. This is sushi beyond the routine California Roll, although that’s here too (crabmeat, avocado and cucumber, $2.95).

Sushi specials include the spectacular Fire Cracker Roll (spicy tuna, cucumber, yami and red sauce on top of a shrimp tempura, cream cheese and carrots roll, $8.95) and the Asian/Mexican fusion Heart Breaker Roll (a spicy tuna jalapeno pepper roll topped with tobiko, flying fish roe, $6.95). We tried the Oh Honey, baked salmon on top of a spicy tuna roll that came steamed in a foil boat on a wooden plank.

For dessert is Japanese ice cream — green tea, which also comes fried; or mochi, a fruity ice cream wrapped in fluffy dough coated with powder. Flavors are mango or red bean.

Red Bento is at 215 W. Third St., Moscow, (208) 596-4041.
