Gefilte Trout

Gefilte Trout plays Bucer’s in Moscow from 7-9 p.m. Friday, May 6. Gefilte Trout is a Klezmer group that performs traditional Eastern European Jewish and Roma (Gypsy) folk music. The music ranges from lyrical, melancholy songs to boisterous dance tunes that include waltzes, horas and Bulgars. The group has performed at weddings, parties, cafes and many community gatherings and events for many years and has repeatedly been featured at the Spokane Folk festival. Members of Gefilte Trout include Bill Voxman, clarinet; Bill Thompson, guitar; Bob Garcia, bass); and Elena Panchenko, vocals. Elena, of Ukrainian descent, sings in Yiddish, Russian, Roma, Ladino and Hebrew.
