Gefilte Trout

Gefilte Trout is a Klezmer group that performs traditional Eastern European Jewish and Roma (Gypsy) folk music. The music ranges from lyrical, melancholy songs to boisterous dance tunes that include waltzes, horas and Bulgars. For many years, Gefilte Trout has performed at weddings, parties, cafes and community gatherings and events. The group has repeatedly been featured at the Spokane Folk festival. Members of Gefilte Trout include Bill Voxman (clarinet), Bill Thompson (guitar), Bob Garcia (bass) and Elena Panchenko (vocals). Elena, of Ukrainian descent, sings in Yiddish, Russian, Roma, Ladino and Hebrew.
