As one of the largest short film festivals in the world, the Manhattan Short Film Festival gathers 100,000 viewers in more than 350 cities across six continents. This year, the locations include Dayton.
The global festival takes place at various cities during a similar time frame, though schedules vary by location. The Dayton Liberty Theater was selected to showcase the festival this year and will be screening all nine of the finalists at each showtime. After the screening, audiences can vote for Best Film and Best Actor. Winners will be announced Oct. 8 at ManhattanShort.com.
The nine short film finalists come from eight countries and include a variety of genres, including dramas, animation, comedy and more. The films range from around nine minutes to 19 minutes in length and may contain mature subject matter, so viewer discretion is advised.
More information about films and showtimes is available online at libertytheater.org.
