MOSCOW — Fire dancers and petitions to get medical marijuana on the 2012 Idaho ballot will circulate Saturday at the 16th annual Moscow Hemp Fest.

The free event is from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at East City Park, 900 E. Third St.

The Idaho Medical Choice Act is a petition drawn up by the Boise Chapter of Compassionate Idaho. Representatives will be on hand to gather signatures during the festival, which will feature live music, arts and crafts, food, and speakers.

This year’s music headliners are Groove Patrol of Spokane; Voodoo Horseshoes of Missoula; Robb Boatsman and Rampage from Spokane; and Friends of the Devil and Chubby Facemelt, both of Moscow.

Bio Luminesce, a troupe of fire dancers and drummers from Sandpoint, will perform a fire dance at evening’s end.

Speakers will include Steve Phun, a Seattle Hemp Fest activist; Adam Assenberg, a Moscow activist; and Rob Oates, congressional candidate.
