League of Women Voters presentation coincides with Education Week

A Zoom presentation at noon Wednesday, Jan. 25, titled “Taking Action on Education Funding in Idaho” is the latest in the League of Women Voters of Moscow Speaker Forum series.

The free event, for “anyone interested in influencing the 2023 Idaho Legislature on education funding,” can be accessed at bit.ly/LWVMspeakers, according to a League news release.

It covers proposed legislation and how to give input to legislators and comes during Education Week in the Idaho Legislature, when the Joint Finance-Appropriations Committee will be discussing education funding.

Presenters include members from throughout the state serving on the League of Women Voters of Idaho’s Legislative Action Committee, some of whom have participated in League studies on education funding since 2015, according to the news release.

Representatives from a group called Totally Optimistic Advocates Dedicated to Students, or TOADS, also will participate, explaining how they used a League of Women Voters study to develop bills they are promoting in the Legislature.
