The Portland, Ore., based band Left Coast Country hits Clarkston and Moscow Thursday through Saturday March 13-15.
The Sound: Formed in 2010 in the midst of Portlands exploding newgrass scene, Left Coast Country is a modern string band featuring a hard-driving blend of country, honky-tonk and blues. Their first album, Dark Down and Blue, displayed the groups high-energy originals. With their second, self-titled album they took their music to the tour circuit.
On stage: Performing live the band showcases synchronous harmonies, melodies, and intense instrumentation mixing fiery foot stompers with traditional country ballads. The group has played and shared the stage with musicians and bands, including Dead Winter Carpenters, Vince Herman (Leftover Salmon), Shook Twins and Fruition String Band.
