“Overview of Moscow and Latah County Planning Departments and Land Use Development” is the topic of a Speakers Forum program to be hosted by the Moscow League of Women Voters at noon Wednesday, Feb. 16. The presentation will be on Zoom. Login information can be found on the LWV website at lwvmoscow.org. Michelle Fuson, Latah County Director of Planning, Building, and G.I.S. Departments and Mike Ray, City of Moscow Planning Manager will discuss the structure and responsibilities of the City of Moscow Community Development Department and the Latah County Planning Department, along with various City and County Commissions and their functions as they relate to the land use process. Topics that will be broadly covered include zoning and subdivision regulations, the Comprehensive Plan, zoning administration, public input, and public hearing procedures. Fuson is the Director of the Planning, Building and G.I.S. Departments for Latah County and has been in that role for 20 years. She has a master’s degree from Washington State University and currently serves on the boards of the County Planning Division of the American Planning Association and the National Association of County Planners. Ray has been with the City of Moscow for 13 years and currently serves in the position of Planning Manager. He has a bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning from the University of Utah and has served on the board for the Idaho Chapter of the American Planning Association.
