Moscow Contemporary presents “Picuun, I Am Water” with photographs and video work by Dennis DeHart and Robbie McClaran, three canoes built by Palouse Prairie Charter School’s Canoe Project and Nimiipuu traditional fishing tools. The exhibition runs through Sept. 10.
This exhibit honors and questions the evolving relationship to water and our rivers from multiple perspectives. The exhibit pulls from Native American and nonNative perspectives. Acknowledged in the photographers’ work, and the canoe project, a text throughout the exhibit written by Gary Dorr (Standing Red Bear) Founder of Nimiipuu54 and Former Chairman of of the Nez Perce Tribe General Council.
