The Lewiston Farmers Market will celebrate National Farmers Market Week from 5-8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8. From 5-6 p.m. there will be a wine tasting with Clearwater Canyon Cellars and a cooking demonstration using local products found at the market. Free tote bags and temporary tattoos will be handed out while supplies last. Other things for sale at the market include honey, wooden cookware, handmade jewelry, traditional and gluten-free baked goods and brick oven pizza and tamales. The market is in the D Street Parking Lot downtown next to Brackenbury Square where there will be live music by Shania Rales from 6-8. The market welcomes new vendors and is seeking more produce, eggs, and humanely raised meats from small farm and backyard vendors.
At the Moscow Farmers Market from 8- 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8 Chef Eric Conte of the Moscow restaurant Gnosh will present a lesson in fresh eating from 10-11 a.m. by the City Tent next to the clock in Friendship Square. A kid's fruit and vegetable tasting is from 9-noon by the City Tent. Sword swallower Brad Byers will perform at 9:30 a.m. followed by the band the Working Poor at 11. The market runs through the end of October.
Other Quad-cities markets include the Clarkston Farmers Market, held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturdays through September at the corner of 5th and Sycamore Streets.
The Pullman Farmers Market is held 3:30 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays through October in the Spot Shop parking lot at 240 NE Kamiaken St.
