What you’ll find at Rendezvous for Kids is a little bit different every year.
Here’s what’s not different: the basic structure. That means kids registered in the main program will participate in three 45-minute art workshops, one of which is always movement-based. Besides that, they, along with the kids in the preschool and walk-on program, will have opportunity to visit various “art stops” -- hands-on activities ranging from fabric art to jewelry to creating bubbles.
Besides making art, every kid in the program will get a lunch and enjoy lunchtime entertainment.
What else will you find? Here are a few things you’ll encounter at this year’s Rendezvous for Kids:
Collage. If you’ve ever wanted to collage a flamingo with tissue paper, glitter and rhinestones, here’s your chance. Moscow’s Julene Ewert is teaching a collage workshop. On the other day, she’ll teach you how to create a two-dimensional robot with dictionary paper, wooden rulers and more.
Stage Performance. This year’s movement workshop is a drama project. Each day, you will have a chance to perform for the other kids at the program during the lunchtime entertainment.
Watercolors. At one of the workshops in the main program, you’ll learn a few different watercolor techniques -- then pick your favorite and create a project.
