MOSCOW -- The upcoming Biennial Benefit Auction is more than just an opportunity to own an original piece of art -- its a chance to keep art coming to the Prichard Gallery for years to come.
Featuring work by more than 60 regional and national artists who have previously exhibited at the gallery, the auction will include paintings, drawings, photography, jewelry, sculpture and a number of wood-turned objects. The collection includes pieces of regional interest as well as national importance, according to a press release. Works to be auctioned are on display now at the gallery. In the upstairs gallery, bidding is open for a wide range of silent auction pieces.
Funds from the event support the exhibitions program at the gallery, an outreach facility of the University of Idaho.
The event begins at 7 p.m., Feb. 2 with a pre-auction social; the $25 tickets include a free glass of champagne or sparkling water, and hors doeuvres and desserts will be provided by Nectar. The live auction, hosted by UI Theatre Arts Professor Rob Caisley, will begin at 7:45 p.m. Those not able to attend may email bids in advance to pagallery@uidaho.edu, beginning Saturday. Visit the online catalog to view available pieces at http://webpages.uidaho.edu/prichardartgallery/auction.html.
