By local, we mean the Quad Cities of Moscow, Pullman, Lewiston and Clarkston and a long list of small towns like Troy, Genesee, Palouse, Orofino, Lapwai, Pomeroy and Grangeville, where arts and culture events are flourishing.
Many events are uploaded to the calendar via our website here at inland360.com. Some are emailed to us at arts@inland360.com. A few are gleaned from social media by our staff members.
As an increasing number of artists, authors, musicians and organizers of events of all sorts take advantage of our publication to reach the public, we want to make sure everyone has the most up-to-date information about how — and when — to submit events.
- Complete information — event title, location, time and date, cost, description, contact information and an image, if possible — must be uploaded at inland360.com or submitted via email to arts@inland360.com by noon Monday to appear in Thursday’s print publication.
- We encourage you to upload your events as early as possible. They will appear on the website from the time they are approved by our staff through the event date. That’s a lot of exposure for your event if you upload it weeks, or even months, in advance.
- You’ll be asked to choose a category (i.e. Arts & Exhibits, Music, Stage & Screen) if you’re uploading an event online. Use the drop-down menu to search for the best fit. You can choose multiple categories for the online listing, but just one for print. We sometimes adjust the category when we edit and approve a listing.
- Items submitted online will appear in print starting about one month before the event date, if they take place in our readership area of north central Idaho and southeastern Washington. Events outside our readership area (i.e. in Spokane or the Tri-Cities) may be included on the website but will not appear in print.
- You won’t be able to edit your event through the web portal once it has been uploaded, but you can email or call us if something changes, and we’ll be happy to update the listing for you. You can reach me at mstone@inland360.com or (208) 848-2244.
- We choose a few items from the calendar to highlight in our weekly Events Roundup, and a few more are curated for our events newsletter, which goes out via email Friday mornings (you can subscribe on our website).
We’re fortunate to live in a region with a wealth of arts events happening at any given time. Our hope is to capture a slice of what’s going on each week with our Events Roundup and occasional feature stories. For the most comprehensive look at what’s happening, though, the calendar is the place to go.
Let us know if you have questions or suggestions. Thank you to everyone who has uploaded an event over the past weeks and months. We’re looking forward to seeing even more.
