The Regional Theatre of the Palouses first all-youth production, 13 the Musical, runs Saturday and Sunday.
The coming-of-age story follows Evan Goldman (Jasper Barbosa) as he moves from New York City to small-town Indiana. There he navigates new and complicated social dynamics at school while dealing with his parents divorce and upcoming bar mitzvah. The show explores the teenage social experience with both humor and emotion.
Audiences will not be disappointed with this wonderful musical, said John Rich, executive director, in a press release, emphasizing the experience and talent represented in the group of young performers.
The full-length Broadway show is the result of the teen performance workshop, a four-week intensive program for kids age 13 and older. The show is offered free of charge for those 55 and older.
