6 hungry hummingbirds

Karen Purtee
It was hummingbird reunion day at our house east of Moscow. Several species all coming for dinner at the same time on Thursday, May 19th. We have other feeders, but the front window was the feeder of choice for three pairs of three different species. Then the reflection off of the glass makes the photo appear to have 12 birds buzzing about. The copper colored Rufus is at 9 o'clock; the Black-chinned at 3 o'clock; and, the Broad-tailed at 6 o'clock. All the females are green. (The Calliope pairs use other feeders.)

You are invited to contribute photographs to this community photo album. Your photo will appear here and also be eligible to run in the print edition of the Lewiston Tribune, on the back page of Wednesday’s Northwest section, or daily in the Moscow-Pullman Daily News as that newspaper’s Reader Photo of the Day.
