A sensory experience

Dinner in the Dark has guests experiencing food they can’t see

Dinner in the Dark, a gustatory event described as “experiential,” has guests indulging in a four-course meal while blindfolded.

The Beautiful Downtown Lewiston fundraiser, in its second year, is set for 5 p.m. March 11 at Brava’s in Towne Square, 504 Main St., Lewiston. Participants are invited to dress in a steampunk theme.

The event “challenges attendees to rethink the importance of vision in the food experience,” with attendees, assisted by table guides, sampling a menu that won’t be revealed until after it has been eaten, when the chef will describe each course.

“Each course incorporates a variety of scents and textures to provide a full sensory experience,” according to a Beautiful Downtown Lewiston news release.

Tickets, $150 or $830 for a table of six, are at beautifuldowntownlewiston.com/dinner-in-the-dark and include a wine-paired, four-course meal, gift bag, entry to a live auction and heads-or-tails game, live band performance and specialty drink at an after party.
