Arbor Day Celebration

The Lewis-Clark State College Arboretum Committee and Psychology Club will plant a commemorative tree on Arbor Day to celebrate the 34 years of service to the college by retired professor Rhett Diessner. The Arbor Day Celebration will take place near Meriwether Lewis Hall and the gazebo in the center of campus. The event is sponsored by the school's Arboretum Committee and the city of Lewiston. Diessner, who retired last spring, taught a variety of classes, including psychology. He won several honors through the years, including being the first professor at LCSC to be honored as the Carnegie Foundation for Advancement of Teaching’s Idaho Professor of the Year in 2005. The LCSC campus has more than 1,000 trees with 100 different species and cultivars.
