A massive rock edifice rises above Forest Service Road #255. The narrow, dusty road runs alongside Kelly Creek on the North Fork Ranger District, Clearwater National Forest. Le Ann Wilson of Orofino snapped the photo on July 22, during a day trip to the scenic North Fork Clearwater River back country.

Feeding the World from the Palouse

One of our neighboring pheasants in his favorite wild rose bush, taken on 31 Jan 2024 outside of Lapwai, ID. He and other members of his group are frequent visitors to the bush in order to feed on the rose hips during the winter. Typically, the pheasants visit the bush in gender groups taking turns - the ladies followed by the gents later in the day or vice versa.

Le Ann Wilson of Orofino took this pretty picture of the North Fork Clearwater River. This stretch of the river meanders along Forest Service Road #250 between Bungalow and Kelly Forks, on the North Fork Ranger District. The photo was taken July 22.
This pumpkin grew inside the basket of a garden scoot. Le Ann Wilson of Orofino snapped this "gord-geous" photo on October 10.
Scottish terriers Willa Peace and Finlay pose for an impromptu holiday portrait. Le Ann Wilson of Orofino boosted the pretty pups into the bed of a beautifully decorated vintage truck parked outside the Orofino Flower Shop. The quick pic was taken December 12, 2021.
Finlay, a kilt-clad, wheaten Scottish terrier, rests for a moment following a snowy, midday romp. Finlay was enjoying the wintry weather with his "mom", Le Ann Wilson. The frosty photo was taken December 20 in Orofino.
