Panelists will discuss the landmark Brown vs. Board of Education decision that desegregated schools seven decades ago during a Women’s History Month event Wednesday, March 6, at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston.
The free event, “70 Years: Examining Brown vs. Board of Education,” will take place at noon in Room 100 at Meriwether Lewis Hall, 500 Eighth Ave.
The focus will be on how women and girls were integral to the case, the events leading up to it and its continued significance today, according to an LCSC news release.
Heather Van Mullem, who recently earned her juris doctorate degree from the University of Idaho College of Law, will moderate the discussion with panelists Cameron Paradise, an education student; Kaitlyn Dougherty, a history and secondary education student; Jay Raulerson, a social sciences and secondary education student; and Thomas Hill, an assistant professor at the school.
Audience members will have the chance to participate at the end of of the panel discussion.
