CLARKSTON — Clarkston’s Alive After Five will be 5 to 8:30 tonight downtown on Sixth Street.
The event will feature live music by American Bonfire, as well as food vendors and children’s activities.
June 5
ONAWAY — A free concert by the Potlatch Community Band will be given at 7 p.m. Friday at Faith Church here.
The concert’s program features a variety of music including classical (“The Overture to William Tell”), patriotic (“From Sea to Shining Sea”), musical numbers from “West Side Story” and a sampling of Irish folk tunes with “Highlander Suite.”
Light refreshments and beverages will follow the concert.
The band numbers between 25 to 30, and ages of members range from 13 to 73. It is directed by Doug Richards of Princeton, a teacher in the Potlatch School District.
The church is at 401 Third St.
June 5
LEWISTON — A reception Friday at 5 p.m. will mark the opening of “Sacred Circles” by Lewiston native Kelly Price at the Lewis-Clark State College Center for Arts & History here.
Another exhibit, Scott Kirby’s “Main Street Souvenirs – In Search of the American Heartland” opens with a reception at 5 p.m. June 12 followed by a concert at 7 p.m.
Both exhibits will continue through July 18. Admission is free, though donations are accepted.
Price’s exhibit showcases both silk paintings and acrylics. Price, who graduated from Lewiston High School, has worked as an illustrator for newspapers and greeting cards, and then moved to the mediums of soft sculpture, clay sculpture and mural painting. Price also plans a silk painting workshop at the center from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. July 18.
Kirby’s exhibit is a multimedia stage performance featuring live piano music, a spoken narrative and video presentation. According to a news release, it consists of original artwork, video footage, photography, and archival photos all centered on the theme of small-town American life. Kirby is a pianist who worked as a street performer in New Orleans and later moved to France where he completed 75 paintings and 28 piano compositions.
Kirby also will perform at 11:30 a.m. June 13 at the center.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. It is at 415 Main St.
June 6
RIGGINS — The 17th annual Big Water Blowout River Festival will feature discounted river trips, a Dutch oven cook-off and live music here Saturday.
Most events will be at Riggins City Park, including the annual Dutch oven cook-off. Cooking begins at 5 p.m., judging is at 7 and the food will then be available for $5 per plate.
The rafting trips will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Buckskin Bible Review will play live music for dancing from 7 to 10 p.m. in the park.
June 7
UNIONTOWN — The annual Invitational Photography Exhibit at Artisans at the Dahmen Barn here will open Sunday with a reception from 1 to 3 p.m.
The free exhibit continues through June 28, and features photos of the region taken in the past year by photographers from the region. Those attending may vote on a People’s Choice Award, which will garner the winner $150.
Entries feature photos printed on canvas, metal and traditional photography paper.
The barn is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Sunday and is at 419 N. Park Way.
