"Celebrating the Palouse"

Kennewick photographer John Clement will be the exhibiting artist the month of October. A meet-the-artist opening reception will be from 1-3 p.m. Oct. 6.
Clement began his career in photography in the early 1970s as a portrait photographer and in the mid '70s changed to commercial industrial photography. During this time, he was building his landscape photography portfolio. He has received more than 70 national, international and regional awards for both his commercial work and landscape photography over the years.
He has supplied images to the Schweitzer Engineering calendar, the annual McGregor calendar and several other books on the region. He has worked with historian Richard Schuerman doing historical/pictorial books on the region: "Palouse Country: A Land and its People," "Palouse Country: An Oral History," "Finding Chief Kamiakin," "Harvest Heritage" and the most recent, "Celebrating Palouse Country 30th Anniversary Edition." John has his own coffee table book, "Northwest Drylands Seasons."
Clement has provided 17 murals for the Seattle Seahawks stadium. His photos hand in airports, hospitals, financial institutions and private homes around the world. He has nine prints in the Professional Photographers of America permanent loan collection. One print, "Red Dawn," was named one of the top photographs in the United States and was hung in the permanent collection of the International Hall of Fame of Photography.
