Duo brings its unusual approach to ensemble music to Moscow

A duo that specializes in unusual instrumentation is set to perform from 7:30-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 20, at the University of Idaho’s Haddock Performance Hall, 1010 Blake Ave., Moscow.

Ligament, made up of Anika Kildegaard, voice, and Will Yager, double bass, is known for commissioning new music for performances that “are a fusion of standard and nonstandard elements; sometimes there are high heels and sometimes there are electric toothbrushes (and sometimes both),” according to a UI news release.

The Baltimore/Philadelphia-based group “is equally at home with extended techniques as with extra-musical elements.”

More about the duo is at ligamentduo.com. Tickets, $10-$12, are at uitickets.com.
