This praying mantis was sitting on the neighbor's fence enjoying the sun while I was mowing the lawn. I am told that if they make it through the winter their color goes from green to brown and they only live one year. They are beneficial to gardeners as they eat many types of insects. This photo was taken in Lewiston on August 18, 2016 by Nigel LeGresley at his residence.
