Prospective pet owners can meet adoptable animals at the Whitman County Humane Society’s Barkinglot Party, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at the shelter, 1340 SE Old Moscow Road, Pullman.

Special prices will be in effect during the event, including:
  • Kitten adoption: $95 (adopt one, get the second at half price).

  • Adult cat adoption: $45.

  • Adult dog adoption: $100.

The event also includes coffee and treats with Pups and Cups, crafts by Terracotta, homemade dog treats from Peg’s Pup Treats and yard games.

Proceeds from a fall carnival from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at the University of Idaho’s ICCU Arena, 900 Stadium Drive in Moscow, benefit Sojourners Alliance, a nonprofit agency addressing homelessness on the Palouse.

The family-friendly event includes games, prizes, food and drinks.

Rockin’ the Ridge starts at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Burnt Ridge Bed and Breakfast, 1070 Burnt Ridge Road, Troy.

Jim Boland, HWY 99 and Wildgrass will play during the by-donation event, with food, beer and wine available for purchase. Organizers are asking for donations of nonperishable food and household items such as utensils and clothing.

Overnight camping is an option for the family-friendly festival, and sociable, leashed pets are welcome.

The Idaho Guitar Society’s “A Flight of Guitars” concert, from 7:30-9 p.m. Tuesday, features James Reid, Diana Schaible, Ryan Nitz, Craig Green and Michael Millham in a program of music for one, two and four guitars.

The performance is at the 1912 Center’s Lecompte Auditorium, 412 E. Third St. Moscow.

A $10 donation is requested.
