Cherry, Berry & Blues Bash

Orofino Farmers Market party

When: 4:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday.

Where: Downtown Orofino on College Avenue, between Johnson Avenue and A Street.

Of note: A “community party,” the bash is an expanded farmers market with live music by the Michael Kelly Blues Band, pie-baking contest, make-and-take mosaic bookmark craft and vendors.

“What we’re really going for is a street fair vibe,” volunteer Theresa Shelton said.

Border Days

Grangeville

When: Thursday through Sunday.

Where: Locations throughout Grangeville.

Of note: Rodeos at 6 p.m. today through Saturday. Parades at 2 p.m. Friday through Sunday, with a kids’ parade at 1:30 p.m. Friday, all on Main Street. Street sports, including the famous egg toss, at 9 a.m. Friday through Sunday, downtown.

There’s also an arts and craft sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Elks Lodge organized by the Salmon River Art Guild and Central Idaho Art Association. More information and rodeo tickets are at grangevilleborderdays.com.

Fourth of July Parade

Johnson

When: 10 am. Friday.

Where: Downtown Johnson.

Of note: This longtime event is known for wacky entries from community members from around the Palouse. Participants — often in silly or patriotic costumes — walk, pull wagons or drive vintage vehicles. Pets, also often dressed up, are another favorite feature.

Latah County Independence Day Parade

Moscow

When: 10 a.m. Friday.

Where: Main Street.

Of note: This year’s theme is “America the Beautiful.” The parade will be led by kids on patriotically decorated bicycles and followed by entertainment at Friendship Square.

Fourth of July in Pioneer Park Community Band Concert

Lewiston

When: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday.

Where: Pioneer Park, 203 Fifth St.

Cost: Free.

Of note: The Lewis Clark Community Concert Band will perform patriotic music, including marches and armed forces songs.

Fourth of July Bash

White Bird

When: Noon Friday.

Where: 1906 Brews, 280 River St.

Of note: Barbecue ribs and cocktails will be available for purchase starting at noon, and yard games will be available to play all day.

Riverside Bash

Kooskia

When: noon to 9 p.m. Friday.

Where: Three Rivers Resort, 115 Selway Road.

Of note: This Independence Day celebration includes food and drink options for purchase and live music by singer-songwriter and cover artist Shania Rales playing country-rock favorites and summertime classics.

All-American Fourth of July

Orofino

When: Burger sales start at 5 p.m., fireworks at 10 p.m. Friday.

Where: Orofino City Park ballfield, 155 Wisconsin St.

Of note: Includes vendors, including the Rotary Club of Orofino which will sell grilled burgers and dogs. Timberline High School senior Harlee Harris will sing the national anthem before the fireworks show.

Fourth of July in Pullman: Celebrating 50 Years

When: 5 p.m. live music; 10 p.m. fireworks, on Friday.

Where: Sunnyside Park, 147 SW Cedar St.

Of note: Community Band of the Palouse, Ian Skavdahl and DJ Goldfinger will perform.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, salads and a surprise sweet treat will be available for purchase from Timber restaurant. More information is at bit.ly/Pullman4th, including Pullman Transit’s free park & ride schedule (parking at the venue is limited).

Bovill’s Big Bang

Bovill

When: 6-10 p.m. Friday

Where: East City Park, 201 Third Ave.

Of note: This free, family-friendly event includes a live performance of the national anthem, burgers and hot dogs for sale and a fireworks show.

Community Spirit Fireworks

Lewiston-Clarkston Valley

When: 10 p.m. Friday.

Where: The show, which originates at Clarkston High School’s Adams Field in Clarkston, can be viewed from vantage points around the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley. The field is closed to the public.

Of note: A patriotic soundtrack will accompany the show on radio stations Canyon Country 106.9 FM, The River 105.1 FM, KOZE News Talk 95.5 FM and Z ROCK 96.5 FM.

Winchester Days

When: 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday

Where: Downtown Winchester.

Of note: Celebration includes 10 am. parade, all-day show and shine car show, EMT benefit auction, kids’ games, local vendors, food vendors, 10 p.m. fireworks.

American Legion Seafood Boil

White Bird

When: 4 p.m. Saturday.

Where: Veterans Memorial Park, 105 Copper St.

Tickets: $25 at 1906 Brews or the Idaho County Veterans Center. 318 E Main St., Grangeville.

Of note: This ninth annual event includes live music, drawings and a seafood dinner.
