Local band "Henry C and the Willards" will perform at Moscow's Farmers Market this Saturday in downtown Moscow. The group of six will start at 9:30 a.m. with blues and rock, including covers of popular songs as well as original music.

MicrophoneThe Willards have only been together since October of last year.

"I was asked by an old friend to provide music for a birthday party," said frontman Henry Willard (songwriter, guitar).

Translating that to mean live music, Willard gathered a group of musical friends.

"This was my 'dream team' band," he said. "So we got together and rehearsed, and it was so much fun we had to keep going."

The dream band includes Willard, Nels Peterson (drums), Jeanne McHale (keyboard, vocals), Donna Holmes-Parks (vocals), Doug Park (bass) and Terri Grzebielski (rhythm guitar, vocals).

"Jeanne also writes some of our songs," said Willard. "And the name of the band was the women's idea."

Uninterested in touring, the band has played for fundraisers, such as the Kenworthy, Rendezvous in the Park, and for an event with Wild Idaho Rising Tide.
