Michael Holloman and Jacy SoHappy will speak about Indigenous weaving and beading practices as they relate to artworks and cultural materials featured in the exhibition "Here in a Homemade Forest: Common Reading Connections." Holloman will emphasize the importance of intergenerational knowledge and the artworks as living items, not only in relation to the materials from which they are made, but also in how they are used in community. SoHappy will add context based on her personal experiences as a maker.
