The show starts at 4:30 p.m. with "Rent-a-Cat" (2012), a comedy-drama about Sayoko, who decides to fight loneliness in her life and in the world by starting a cat rental business. At 7 p.m., the ecological fantasy anime "Children of the Sea" (2019) will wow with its lavish visuals. U of I's postdoctoral fellow of East Asian cinema, Yasheng She, will be present to discuss Japanese film. The screenings are co-sponsored by the Habib Institute for Asian Studies and the Japan Foundation New York.
