That’s the plot for the first book in “The Tagger Herd” suspense series by Gini Roberge of Lewiston. Volumes two through four tell how the horses change the lives of each of the Tagger children, orphaned 17 years before. The fictional family resides in Lewiston and works a 25,000-acre ranch near Cottonwood. The books are written for ages 10 to adult.
Roberge is a lifelong resident of Lewiston. She began writing the self-published series last spring after the idea for it came to her while she was photographing a cattle drive.
She will sign copies of her books from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at And Books Too, 918 Sixth St., Clarkston. Each book is $10.
