- Washington State University emeritus professor Greg Yasinitsky’s “It’s Santa!” is streaming on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube, Amazon and Deezer and is on his website at gregyasinitsky.com/it-s-santa.
The song “has a fun, swinging ‘Rat Pack’ vibe: vocals with a roaring big band,” according to a news release. Two versions were recorded, with vocalist Horace Alexander Young and Yasinitsky’s YAZZ Band, and with the JECCA Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Kathleen Hollingsworth, director of choral activities at Clackamas Community College in Oregon City, Ore., performing with the YAZZ Band. Yasinitsky is featured on saxophone in both renditions.
- Lewiston singer-songwriter Mark Holt, who was featured in Inland 360 in February, recorded his interpretation of the classic Christmas song “Away in a Manger,” on YouTube at bit.ly/HoltManger.
Holt, a self-described troubadour and “genre unto himself,” has been playing country music for nearly 50 years.
