RaeAnn Goodnow, of Clarkston, displays a Sagittarius-themed makeup look, applied by Jacey Johnson.

Sagittarius, Nov. 22-Dec. 21, is a fire sign that is honest, loyal, fun-loving and adventurous. People born under this sign are known to be intelligent and hardworking.

The ninth sign of the zodiac, Sagittarius is represented by the archer and the centaur, symbols of adventure and wisdom, and its birthstones are citrine and turquoise. I wanted to incorporate these colors in the eyeshadow choices this month, while making it a fun look that a lighthearted Sagittarius would enjoy.

RaeAnn Goodnow reacts as she gets a first look at the Sagittarius-themed makeup from Jacey Johnson.

I’m featuring RaeAnn Goodnow, of Clarkston, as my Sagittarius model. RaeAnn is vice president and a fundraiser for Organization X, a local volunteer charitable organization established in the 1960s. The group donates primarily to causes involving children, including elementary schools, both generally and to individual students in need. It also contributes to the Valley Resource Center, area food banks, Snake River Community Clinic, YWCA, Homes for Hope and Willow Center for Grieving Children.

She’s mom to a son, Derek, and her two Samoyeds, fluffy white dogs she loves to take on walks and to Starbucks for pup cups (which is how I met her).

Here are the materials you’ll need if you would like to try out this look at home:

BRUSHES:

1. Two flat brushes.

2. Fluffy/blending brush.

SHADOWS:

1. Ideally, a true turquoise shade.

2. OR, a dark blue shade and light green shade.

3. A warm-toned, chunky gold glitter.

OTHER:

1. Your favorite pair of lashes and mascara.

2. Black liquid liner.

I used the Lisa Frank X Morphe palette for this look.

1. Prep the eyelid with your favorite concealer, or if your eyelids are more oily you can try a mattifying eyeshadow primer to prevent creasing.

Johnson applies turquoise shadow to Goodnow's eye.
2. Use a dark blue shade on the outer part of the lid. We want it to be really pigmented, so use a flat brush for this application.

3. Using a fluffy brush, dip into the light green/turquoise and blend outward from the dark blue shade.

4. Using your clean flat brush, dip into your chunky glitter and apply it from the inner corner, above the crease, and toward the center of the lid.

5. Apply liquid liner to the lash line, and apply mascara and fake lashes.

6. With the flat brush you used for your blue, apply a shadow liner under the bottom lash line and blend out toward the outer eye. Doing this will enhance the eye and bring the look together.

7. Apply mascara to your bottom lashes.
