MOSCOW The Palouse-Clearwater Environmental Institute hopes to make going green a lively affair Saturday with its second Sustainability Fair.
The fair, which will be held at PCEI in Moscow, will feature live music, an appearance by the Washington State University Raptor Club, food, drinks and hands-on workshops and demonstrations, featuring information on topics like worm composting.
More than 25 community partners are involved in this years fair, something that PCEI outreach coordinator Daniel Sidder said he is grateful for.
These kinds of events are really important for the community, Sidder said. We here at PCEI are really excited that we have community support.
Sidder said he knew after last years fair that he wanted to make it an annual event.
The fair connects people, place and community, Sidder said. Were facilitating conversations that are necessary, but we make sure people are having a good time, too.
PCEI, which offers activities for people of all ages and abilities, was established in 1986 and has been at its current location in Moscow for 10 years. Its nature center trail takes visitors around the facility, with stops to appreciate a view that stretches to the University of Idaho campus.
Sidder said PCEIs vision for the future includes expanding the 12.3 acres of land it is currently on and building a greenhouse. Sidder said the event is free but donations are always welcome.
Were here to help people learn, have fun and make a positive impact, he said.
