Moscow illustrator's pen and watercolors featured in new children's book

“Waiting Through Winter” by Jason Farley, illustrated by Jessica Linn Evans Jovial Press 26 pages, $20

Work by Moscow illustrator Jessica Linn Evans is featured in the new children’s picture book, “Waiting Through Winter,” about animals preparing to hibernate.

Evans’ pen and watercolor illustrations show a bear, family of squirrels and birds all preparing for winter in trust that spring will come again. The story is set to a poem by Jason Farley, pastor of Trinity Covenant Church in Santa Cruz, Calif., and general editor of Jovial Press, which published the hardcover book.

Evans grew up in the Northwest with a love of the outdoors and fairy tales. After years of working as an art director and graphic designer she devoted herself full time to illustrating children’s books with whimsical characters and settings and an emphasis on the natural world. She blogs at jessicalinnevans.com. The book is available online.
