Oceanography

Oceanography is the moniker used by singer-songwriter Brian Kelly. With yelping vocals over layers of angular guitar lines and solid drum beats, the songs recall some of the most acclaimed bands, like The Shins, British Sea Power, Tom Petty and "War"-era U2. As a claustrophobic melancholy looms just beneath the orderly exterior of the songs and their narrators, one could view them as a collection of Raymond Carver stories, but with a beat you can dance to.
