Ellen Vieth is hoping to paint the town with #paintpaint.

Vieth is the owner and curator of Little Pink House Gallery in Genesee. The eighth year of pop-up exhibits begins this weekend with a show called “#paintpaint.” The show runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 22-23 at the Little Pink House Gallery, located at 157 N. Elm St. in Genesee. Private appointments are available after the exhibit.

Along with Vieth, ceramicists Ann Christensen, Casey Doyle, Jill Birshback and Marilyn Lysohir will display their art as well as Jean Arnold and David Herbold.

In a news release, Vieth says the social media hashtag sums it up. “Paint … and more paint,” she said. “Painting is a visceral experience for me and elicits a joyful use of my body as it is transformed into brushstrokes.”

Vieth’s mission is to have new contemporary paintings alongside works from emerging artists in the region and nationally.
