Featuring Jessica Tir from the Conner Museum at Washington State University, home to the largest public collection of birds and mammals in the Pacific Northwest. Tir will discuss taxidermy and the preservation work done by the Conner Museum. Doors open at 5:30pm with the program beginning at 6. Light refreshments will be provided. The Parlor Talks series is part of the current exhibit “Those Wacky Victorians: Early 1800s Hobbies," open now through October. From fly tying to art made of human hair, the cabinet of curiosities to a particular fascination with spiritualism, you'll learn all about the diversions and amusements enjoyed by people of the 1800s. The mansion can be visited Tuesday through Friday, 1-4 p.m. and some Saturdays.
