Tuesday morning outside our door we were presented with an intriguing riddle: which prints came first? The cat paws or the bird footprints? No matter the answer, the design is enchanting. We live at the 3,000' level on Moscow Mountain and we own the cats.

David Purtee, Col. USAF retired, and Lee Ann Mingo prep the entry wreaths. The public is welcome at a ceremony for laying of the wreaths at the Burnt Ridge Cemetery at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17. A repeat ceremony will be held at Beulah Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. the same day. The other cemeteries will be decorated with wreaths at the entrance and on sponsored veterans’ graves. Due to snow conditions in the rural areas, no ceremonies are scheduled.
Western Bluebirds have returned and knocked at our windows to let us know this pair has returned. They are picking out their favorite birdhouse before the swallows return to the area. This picture was taken on May 1st just as the insects they love to munch on are coming out. Our home is at 3,000 feet on Moscow Mountain and perfect for the bright blue little friends.
