Spring's First Wildflower

I hiked up Paradise Ridge on the morning of March 15th and found many Sagebrush Buttercups in bloom. To me blooming Buttercups are a sure sign of spring.

Image: My wife and I watched this squirrel try several times to get the bird feed from our feeder. After several attempts including a fall to ground that surprised us and the squirrel, he came back after a few days of thought on how he was going to overcome this bird feeder. He succeeded by gripping the hanger wire with its hind foot in order reach down to the bird feed and fill its cheeks. Photos By Jerry Cunnington 3/30/2021

Image: Dave Ostrom took this shot of a Bald Eagle sitting in a tree at Higgins Landing, Lake Coeur D'Alene on November 21st. There are many Eagles and it is wonderful to see then each year.
Image: This Mountain Lady Slipper was photographed at Idler's Rest Nature Preserve on June 14th on the left side of the Universal Access trail. I find it to be the Queen of the Wildflowers and feel that no other flower equals it's beauty. It is elusive as it usually doesn't bloom in the same place every year.
