In partnership with Montana Shakespeare in the Parks, University of Idaho Theatre Arts is offering a weeklong drama camp for kids. The camp will include workshops that help build collaboration, creative thinking, language arts and performance skills. Camp participants can expect to do some acting, dancing and movement, along with creating masks and costumes, constructing sets and building props. The class culminates in a performance of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” on March 18.

Build a robot that moves along with you in the Follow-Me Robot workshop. While learning about gears and sensors, construct a robot that moves and detects sounds before testing it in an obstacle course. The Creative Vehicle workshop explores motion, energy, air pressure and more as participants create three different vehicles: a working hovercraft, a car powered by multiple energy sources and a vehicle that will keep an egg safe when dropped from a tall height. All materials for each class are provided and participants will take home the robots or vehicles they created.

Learning to Draw Using Simple Shapes AGES: 6 to 10 years WHEN: 10 a.m. to noon March 18 WHERE: Artisans at the Dahmen Barn, Uniontown COST: $20/child, includes materials; register by March 12 at www.artisanbarn.org or call (509) 229-3414.
