Keep that summertime boredom to a minimum with these upcoming activities for kids:

Matt Baker Comedy and Stunt Show

Catch some free laughs and fun with comedian Matt Baker at 10:30 a.m. today at Troy Community Library, 402 S. Main St., Troy, and at Entertainment in the Park at 6 p.m. today at East City Park, 904 E. First St., Moscow.

Baker combines stand-up comedy and stunts. He’ll share his humorous perspective on things, like the advantages of traveling light and the unexpected uses of technology, while also performing stunts like catapulting vegetables, spitting ping pong balls at volunteers and catching a bowling ball on his head. Baker has appeared on television shows including “Last Comic Standing” and “America’s Got Talent” and has performed in more than 17 different countries.

Summer Movies

The Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre offers a summer matinee movie series for kids that shows a new movie every week at 1 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, now through August 16. Admission is $3. Up this week is “Smurfs: The Lost Village,” with next week featuring “Early Man.” Find the full schedule online at www.kenworthy.org.

The theater also shows cartoons on Saturdays, free of charge, from 9 a.m. to noon now through September.
