Tailgating party is Saturday in downtown Lewiston

Beer, bite size steak and bloody marys are on the menu Saturday, Sept. 17, at Beautiful Downtown Lewiston’s Downtown Tailgate: Bites and Diggers.

The family-friendly event runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the Lewiston Tribune/Lewiston City Library parking lot, on the corner of Fifth and D streets.

The WSU vs. Colorado football game will be shown on two 55-inch screens, complemented by a beer garden by Lewiston’s Groundwork Brewing and drinks including clam diggers, bloody marys and mocktails.

Attendees can purchase a "bites" card, $25 at beautifuldowntownlewiston.com/downtown-tailgate, to sample bite size from a variety of vendors and cast their vote for best in the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley.

Registration for a tailgate decorating contest with prizes from local businesses, $20, and cornhole tournament, $10, also are on the Beautiful Downtown Lewiston website.

The event winds down with live music at 5 p.m., when Katz Band performs on the Tribune's old loading dock.
